Sorry - SOLD!
1970 Olds 442 - Black with Gold stripes. Original 455 is included with purchase, real 442, not a W-30 car (just badge'd up like one). The special thing with this car is that it has a verified and very very real Mondello built 650hp 455 engine under the hood (check out the pics of the completed engine on https://mondelloperformance.com/engines/). This engine is the holy grail for Olds guys, a very valuable engine to say the least - AND FAST!! The transmission is a very stout Turbo400 with a slight stall and is capable up to 800 hp, the rear is stuffed with a set of stump pulling 4:11 gears (W27 cover) - this car will get the ice cream home before it melts! The exhaust coming out of the Edelbrock 6051 Performer Aluminum heads flow thru chrome plated headers and thru a very customer built THREE INCH MANDRELL BENT EXHAUST and out custom made 3" Trumpet style tips - she sounds SICK and runs nice on 93 octane "pump" gas. The ignition is a reliable Pertronix "Flame Thrower setup backed up by a MSD Rev Limiter currently set at 6k rpm.
The body is very nice, the panels are straight and the gaps are very presentable, all the weatherstripping is soft and seal well, the original color code looks to be 48 which decodes out as Sherwood green, the 930 code correctly indicates black interior w/bucket seats. The new paint scheme is definitely an upgrade! The W25 OIA hood is perfect and the rear spoiler adds to the car's aggressive "no bullshit" stance. The paint is flat with a great deep shine and was painted prior to the car's current long time owner taking possession of it about 15 years ago. You will NOT be disappointed with this car and will be a true attraction at any show or local cruise night. The interior is well appointed and comfortable. It's equipped with the assembly line installed black vinyl bucket seats and console (including the Hurst supplied His'n Hers floor shifter), the dashboard is in great shape, a tach replaces the unused pod on the right side of the gauge cluster and is accompanied by a trio of digital gauges under the dash report in with oil pressure, water temp, and the current charging condition. No rips, no stains, and a nice sounding, upgraded stereo system round out "the office". The car is well optioned for being a street brawler, and they include the bucket seats, sport wheel, power steering, power front disc brakes, tile wheel, power windows, light package, power driver's seat, and the rare "Speed Warning" system.
The suspension and braking parts are all new within the last 200 miles - the brake system includes a much needed electro-booster to make up for the low vacuum of the hi-po engine. She stops great and the electric motor powering the booster has been hidden nicely. The ride is tight, all new bushings, and steering components ensures that the car tracks nicely. All new shocks and HD springs keep the car planted when it's not being twisted up by the 600 lb ft of torque expelled by the Mondello power plant between the fenders! The wheels and tires are very vintage to the 70's vibe. Both the front and rear chrome 15" x 8" Oldsmobile Super Stock 1 styled wheels wrapped in timeless BFG radial T/A rubber (235/60 in the front and meaty 295/50's out back).
All in all this is an amazing car for those that like to drive and would like to drive a car hard without anything breaking. The car not so much for the 442 purists but with the original engine being included, it can be restored back to stock without too much trouble. The car must be seen and driven to be believed - no excuses, it is what it is - a beast that Doc Olds would be proud to call one of his!
