1972 Chevelle SS, 350/4V (L-48 - same as base Corvette engine), J-code in the VIN. Turbo350 automatic, 2:73 (open) 12-bolt rear. 29,247 actual miles that are completely authenticated thru the car's paperwork (registrations, inspections, service records all showing miles and dates) plus you can tell. This car has NEVER been restored, however it has received a very high-quality BC/CC repaint of the original Ascot Blue about 12 years ago (6,500 miles driven since). At the time it also received a new vinyl top. The bumpers, all the stainless, and the glass is original to the car. Other paperwork includes the car's buildsheet, the original NC license plate that matches the car's first NC registration, the selling dealer's license plate frame, all the manuals, window sticker, dealer order sheet, and even the obituary of the original owner! This car has always been a fair weather driver and has never been a daily driver. This is THE car used to represent the 1972 model year in the coffee table book "50 Years of the SS". Options beside the SS package include power steering, power disc brakes, F41 performance suspension, door edge guards, front and rear bumper guards, AM-8 Track player (radio works, tape is inop), vinyl top. All the cars lights work perfectly, all the dash lights illuminate 100% including the "fasten seat belt" warning system, headlights, tail lights, side markers, dome, and the glove compartment - all work and functioning. The door buzzer is just as annoying now as it was 45 years ago, and so is the Seat Belt warning alarm - jeez! The car has 100% of its original sheet metal and looks to have never been in an accident - like I said before the paint is show quality and you'll be pleased at how straight the car is looking down the sides. Tire size is currently 215/60-15's all around mounted on the original 15x7 SS wheels. The interior is completely original and flawless, no cracks in the dash pad, no splits in the seats, no stains on the carpets - truly beautiful. The only thing I can find wrong with this car is that no key I have will unlock the doors, so I'll be looking into that. The trunk is detailed and contains the original spare wheel with a BFG radial mounted on it and the original jack and floor mat, not sure if this ever came with a spare tire cover like the ones I see in other Chevelles. Anyway, you get the picture - if you're looking for a super clean, very original, and well maintained 72 small block Chevelle SS I challenge you to find a better example. Feel free to send anyone out to inspect this car, fly in and drive it home!
